WordPress Themes

Written by Debbie on Saturday, December 20th, 2008 in Articles.

I discovered WordPress a couple years ago. I played around with it and then was off onto someting new. Through my webdesign quests I bounced back to learning WordPress and discovering more about the fabulous skins called themes.

I have spent hours just browsing and admiring the creative wordpress themes I saw. Somday I too am going to be able to create great looking wordpress themes. Well that someday is here and I am proud to say I can now create wordpress themes.

As my knowledge increases in learning wordpress I am amazed at what this open source software can do with php, css and graphic images. Add some wordpress plugins and you have the makings of a great website. I have some of my wordpress themes available, stop by and take a peek http://www.themesindesign.com/wp_themes/business_wp_themes.htm

Comcast and the Economy

Written by Debbie on Friday, December 19th, 2008 in Articles.

I’m sure many feel the same why I do about increased rates at Comcast. Seems like they are adding to the economy problem and making people choose between having a fast connection or going without Internet service.

Tracks of Time

Written by Debbie on Friday, December 19th, 2008 in Articles.

A friend and I were talking on the phone about a few different things. We started discussing things about our different websites and blogs we had created. She then mentioned that she still gets phone calls from a website she put up a few years ago at one of the free web hosting places. she said “I do not even know how to access it anymore”. This made us both think of how time goes by over the years and the different places we have signed up for over the Internet regarding free web hosting and free blog accounts.

Although you may have forgotten it, the internet has not. Your tracks are still left there imprinted into cyberspace. I still remember some of my first websites at Geocities with its little roadmaps and long address names. I use to search the internet looking for cool animations and bright backgrounds to fill up my own little personal web space. Since that time I have developed more, learned more and now know what it is to have a website that does not take lots of time to load because of a page filled with jumping and spinning animations.

I’m still creating websites, registering domain names and creating WordPress blogs. I have learned to link my sites up through other websites like twitter.com, squidoo.com and linkedin.com this time I’m keeping a little note book with all the sites I have registered with. So, I’m still leaving my tracks in time imprinted into cyberspace and as the years go by I too someday may get an email or phone from an old blog or website call saying I found you on the Internet.
