German Shepherd Dogs

Written by Debbie on December 20th, 2008 in Articles, Pets.

German Shepherds have been a favorite breed of mine for the last 20 years. I’m currently working with my 9th GSD who is 6 months.  My first German Shepherd was a stray that appeard in my yard and stayed with me for 6 years. From that time since I have been in love with this breed. They can always stop me in my tracks when I see a good looking GSD.

Today I currently have 3 beautiful German Shepherds. There is Sam a 3 1/2 year bi-color, Zoey a Sable-bi color who is a rescue that is 10 years old and Jerry Lee that is the standard black and tan who is 6 months and weighed in at 81 pounds on his vet trip for a rabies shot a few days ago.

They are smart and loving and can be a handful at times, like when the puppy Jerry Lee has decided to tear up my furniture. Need to work this trouble spot out so I do not need to replace my furniture.

I just recently lost a beloved 8 year old GSD in July of 2008 from a tumor and internal bleeding. Soon I will write about him, but his loss is still to fresh in my mind. Below is his photo

Todate the GSD’s that have shared my life are Lady, LaVetta, Mitzie, Reuben, Marra, Valcore, Sammy, Zoey and Jerry Lee. Another GSD that touched me very deeply and shared my life for 11 1/2 years was Reuben. His photo is below. It has been almost 3 years since I lost him to old age and I still greive for him.
