Never Shop Turkey When in a Hurry

Written by Debbie on November 26th, 2009 in Articles.

Well, you learn by mistakes and shopping is no different. Most of the time I have my holiday cooking stuff a week before the holiday. This year I shopped the day before and I was in a hurry. The store was crowded and I just wanted to get my things and go home.

With it just being 2 of us, I decided to get just a turkey breast this year instead of a whole turkey. I was glancing through the turkeys and spotted the turkey breasts. They were not frozen and was a good brand name. I glanced at the tag and saw 6.62, I thought WOW that was a good price and placed it into my shopping cart and continued on my way for the other holiday items.

The next day on Thanksgiving I had my turkey breast on the counter and was taking it out of the package. I glanced at the tag and saw a price of $19.99 and thought to myself…NO it was 6.62! Upon futher inspection I then saw the 6.62 which was for the pound size of the turkey breast.

Feeling stupid for not taking the time to really look for the price, I learned a lesson of never shop turkey when in a hurry!
